Retail - Vendor Portal
Problem
A large retail organization was looking to leverage internally collected product sales performance data as part of a fee-based, categorized offering to product vendors. On a subscription basis, vendors would be able to analyze data segments to assess the performance of their own product lines. Different to other available data offerings in the market, the retail organization was proposing data analysis against full data volumes for more accurate results. The challenge presented itself in the form of a very short timeframe for realization as well as very large data volumes which had to be loaded as well as reported on interactively while providing reasonably short response times.
Solution
Within less than 30 days, DataBauhaus team members have defined the data architecture, implemented the data integration processes as well as tuned the solution to provide the smallest possible response times to the reporting application.
Results
Within 90 days from the first design, the system was promoted to production and ready for use by an initial selection of vendors. The retail organization was in a position to not only keep the commitment made to vendors but also significantly grow the vendor subscriber base after the release of the system with tremendously positive feedback.
